Elijah Adams settled in Jefferson twp. approximately1841 on 80 acres of land which he had bought several years previous in 1835. He had returned to his native state of Ohio in 1840, where he married Susan Herr. He was a school teacher and last taught in Ohio in 1840. They came to Indiana soon after and lived on his farm and he taught school nearby. In 1855 they moved to near Bristol and a family of Carmeins took over the farm at this time.
The parents of H.S. K. Barthholemew are buried in this cemetery. Moses Bartholomew died in 1908 and his wife Elizabeth Pfeiffer, died in 1888..
Oldest grave seems to be for a daughter of Elijah and Susan Adams, who died on Dec. 7, 1842, probably at birth.
